Patricia L. (Pat) Carey February 9, 1931 -- February 9, 2009 Patricia L. (Pat) Carey, 78, of Altoona, died Monday evening at her home following an extended She was born in Logan Township and raised by her late grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Hiram Wilkins. She married Michael J. Carey, Jr. on August 20, 1949, in Patchogue, (Port Jefferson) New York. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1999. Surviving are her son Michael J. Carey, IV, and his fiance' Connie Daugherty,of Altoona three grandchildren, Michel Scavone (Vincent) of Fairfax, VA, James Carey and Paul Carey, both of Altoona, one great granddaughter, Madilynn Scavone and one great grandson, Jude Scavone, both of Fairfax, VA. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carol Carey Pat was an active member of Juniata United Methodist Church where she was very active in many volunteer activities at the church. She retired as a lineworker from Veeder-Root, Duncansville, after 35 years of service. Pat really enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, and from 10-11am Friday at the Juniata United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 11am Friday at Juniata United Methodist Church, with Rev. Keith J. Schmuck, officiating. Interment at Alto Reste Park. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the church located at 808 North 4th Street, Altoona, PA 16601
