Natalie Keller Maier, 82, of Glendale YearRound in Flinton, formerly of Juniata Gap Road, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, February 22. Natalie was born on April 15, 1926 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Lehman) Keller. She was preceded in death by Ted, her husband of fifty-five years. She is survived by five children: Dave and wife, Margo of Olney, MD; Don and wife, Gloria of Indian Trail, NC; Cem and wife Sheila, of Seminole, FL; Lynn Hine and husband, Dave of Marlton, NJ; and Cherie Weiser and husband, Rich of Bellwood; as well as thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Natalie received her B. A. in elementary and secondary education from Indiana State Teachers College. Along with her husband, she and her family moved to Altoona in 1955, to their home on Juniata Gap Road, where they resided for forty-one years. She taught in the Altoona Area School District for twelve years at Keystone Elementary and Keith Junior High School. In addition to being the concert master of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra, she sang with the Altoona Choraleers. She was active in the Altoona Jr. Women's Club and the Blair County Society for Crippled Children. She also served in various roles with the Mardorf United Methodist Church, where she was a member for 54 years. Natalie was an avid Steeler and Penn State fan and a Nittany Lion football season ticket holder for more than fifty years. She loved camping and sight seeing, traveling to all regions of the U S with her husband during their 50+ year marriage. But, it was family that was the most important part of Natalie's life. Her home is filled with multiple photos of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All who were fortunate to receive a birthday or anniversary card from Natalie, always felt better about themselves after reading it. Friends will be received at the Mardorf United Methodist Church, Juniata Gap Road, on Friday, February 27 at noon, followed by a memorial service at 1 PM. Interment at Richland Cemetery, Johnstown.
