Thelma G McLaughlin

Thelma G. McLaughlin, 91, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, of Augusta, KS, formerly of Altoona, died Monday at Lakepoint Assisted Living Center, Augusta, KS. She was born in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Clowie Edna (Isenberg) Skelly. She married George G. McLaughlin October 9, 1937, in Altoona. He died October 15, 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Clowie A. McLaughlin, wife of David Norris, of Augusta, KS, a son, Ronald L. McLaughlin, of Phoenix, AZ, and a granddaughter, Danielle Schweikert, wife of Jeff, of North Carolina. Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Altoona, and a former volunteer at the Altoona Food Bank, Altoona Hospital, and Grace United Methodist Church. She was a 1935 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1422 Fourth Street, Altoona. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1422 Fourth Street, Altoona. Entombment will be at Alto Reste Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be directed to the Altoona Hospital Volunteer program, The Food Bank of Altoona, or the American Heart Association.
