Janet Pollard

Janet M. Pollard Dec. 29, 1942 - May 2, 2009 Janet M. Pollard, 66, Altoona, died Saturday evening at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John I. and Betty L. (Miller) Miller. Surviving are her sister, Gloria Martin, with whom she resided; a brother, Gary Miller of Hiram, Ga.; a grandson, Scott Pollard Jr.; a granddaughter, Michelle Pollard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her former husband, Michael J. Pollard, and the family dog, Chocolate Chip. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Pollard. Janet was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from the billing department at Thompson's Pharmacy. She was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed gardening. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m., with Pastor Bernie Bookhammer officiating.
