Glenn O. Bovard, 85, of Elmcroft Manor, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Juniata Gap, died Thursday evening at the Lutheran Home @ Hollidaysburg. He was born in Butler, a son of the late Walter Oliver Bovard and Wilda (Hall) Bovard. He married Lois Ann Ridgeway on June 13, 1946 in Forty Fort. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2000. Mr. Bovard retired as owner/operator of Bovard Heating & Cooling. He was a member of Mardorf United Methodist Church. After graduating from Kingston High School in 1943, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Bernard Albert Good VFW Post (Fort Apache) in Juniata. Surviving are four sons, Ronald of Fairfield, Iowa, James & Bruce of Altoona, Charles of Fallentimber, 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve, Rita and Corrine. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, and from 10-11am Monday at Mardorf United Methodist Church, Juniata Gap. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday at Mardorf United Methodist Church, with Rev. Edward J. Preston, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mardorf United Methodist Church or the Central PA Humane Society.
