Dean A Boyer Sr

Dean Alfred Boyer, Sr., 91, of Altoona, died at his home on Friday. He was born in Bellefonte, PA, son of the late Issac and Pearl (Mundorf) Boyer. He married Virginia Leona Myers in Baltimore, MD in 1946. She preceded him in death in October, 2008. Surviving are children: Dean Boyer, Jr, and his wife Donna of Georgia, a daughter Sharon Gilliland of Altoona, a daughter Kathy Williams of Altoona, a son Paul Boyer and his wife Lisa of Altoona, a son Dale Boyer of Altoona, a daughter Michelle Baker and her husband Bernard of Altoona; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother Vic Boyer of Gary, Indiana, a sister Lisa Mines of Coltsneck, NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson Paul L. Boyer, Jr., and a great grandson Thomas Allen Brumbaugh. Dean retired from Conrail in 1975 after many years of service. He was a graduate of Bellefonte High School, and loved baseball, dancing, swimming, watching bowling on TV, and spending time with family. Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 12 PM. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
