Tammy Jo Burket

Tammy Jo Burket, 46, of Altoona, died Sunday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, following her courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Macomb, Illinois, a daughter of the late William Nessel "Bud" Herron and Mary Jo (Myers) Herron. Surviving are three daughters, Kayla, Britni and Mackenzie, all at home, and two brothers, Scott Herron and wife Tami and children, of Abingdon, Illinois and Doug Herron and wife Alicia and children of Hollidaysburg. Tammy worked as Assistant Regional Manager for Area Wide Protective. She was a graduate of Spoon River Valley High School, London Mills, Illinois. Friends will be received from 4pm -6pm Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata. Services will be held later this week in Illinois with interment in Bushnell Cemetery.
