Joan Marie Miller

Joan M. Miller, 82, of Altoona, stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Golden Living Center, Hillview. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Emanuel and Marie (Gutshall) Butler. She married Glenn A. Miller March 16, 1946, in Juniata. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1989. Surviving are a son David G. Miller and his wife Bobbie Ann of Altoona, a daughter Susan McGarvey and her husband Joel of Grand Rapids, Michigan, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family. Joan worked in the administrative department at Fisher Department Store in Altoona. She was a graduate of Altoona High School as well as the Keystone Bible Institute, and was a charter member of Grace Family Bible Church. Friends will be received from 12-1 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Grace Family Bible Church, 2243 Mill Road, Duncansville, PA, where a funeral service will be held at 1 PM, with Pastor Joel McGarvey, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
