Rose M Updike

Rose Marie Updike, 53, of Altoona, died Monday at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George L. and Hilda C. (Bergsted) Blackie. She married Harry Henry Alexander Updike, who preceded her in death. Surviving are nine children, John B. Updike, Christine A. Updike, Stacy Friday, Ralph C. Friday, III, Harley M. McConnell, Elizabeth Rose McConnell, Ellen A. Updike, Cecelia Morgan, Michael P. Blackie and her life partner, Joseph C. McConnell. A memorial service will be held at 11am Friday, July 31, 2009, at Faith Baptist Church, Altoona, with Rev. Gary Dull, officiating. Arrangements by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
