David W Jones

David W. Jones, 52, Altoona, died Sunday at home. He was born in Cheverly, Md., son of Donald and Phyllis (Sickenberger) Jones. Surviving are his parents of Altoona; his wife in his heart, Debby Keith of Altoona; a son, D. Scott and wife, Aime, of Altoona; two grandchildren: Miranda and David Arlie Jones; two sisters: Karen L. Brown of Baildon, England, and Kathie L. Beatty of Altoona; and his mother-in-law, Cindy Misitano of Altoona. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Arthur and Pauline Sickenberger and Dow and Alice Jones. David was a 1974 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and attended the University of New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was discharged in 1977. He was disabled March 9, 1981, because of a motorcycle accident in New Mexico. He enjoyed airplanes, cars, guns, Civil War history and playing with his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday by Pastor Ken Beichler.
