Esther L Taylor

Esther L. Taylor, 70, of Altoona died Friday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of Raymond and Mary (Moyer) O'Donnell. She married Clifford A. Taylor Jr. on Oct. 29, 1965. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1985. She is survived by a daughter, Trish French, and husband, Jim; sons, Ray, Patrick Taylor Sr. and Butch Taylor; a grandson, Cliff Taylor, all of Altoona; a granddaughter, Janet Taylor of Maryland; a sister, Nancy Hayes of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick Taylor Jr., and two sisters, Donna and Madeline. She retired from Tritex Sportswear as a sewing machine operator after more than 18 years of service. She was a graduate of Altoona High School. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, going to Atlantic City and spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. Interment at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery.
