Michael F. Cogan, 52, Altoona, died Monday morning in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Altoona, son of John and Marguerite (Ferguson) Cogan. Surviving are his parents of Altoona; three daughters: Rachel M. Showalter of Enterprise, Ala., Melissa S. Brown of Blue Bell, Pa., and Lacey R. Hanna of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; a brother, John Steven of Ocala, Fla.; a sister, Cheryl Fronauer of Altoona; his boxer, Diesel; and his fiancee, Rebecca L. Buechele of Altoona. Michael was a graduate of Altoona High School. He worked as a crane operator for Conrail for more than 20 years, then owned his own auto dealership, Cogan's Used Cars. He belonged to New Life Assembly of God and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Oct. 16, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www .maukandyates.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at New Life Assembly of God, Pastor Wayne Schaffer officiating.
