Ruby MacKay (Allison) Wolfe, 82, Taunton, Mass., formerly of Daytona Beach, Fla., Johnson City, N.Y., and Altoona, died Oct. 23, 2009, at Life Care Center of Raynham after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Angus S. and Annie (MacKay) Allison. She married Donald E. Wolfe in 1946 in Winchester, Va. He died in April 2003. Surviving are a daughter, Denise S. Padelford and husband, Leman, of Taunton, Mass.; a grandson, Kyle Padelford of Taunton; a sister, Grace Erndl of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Cherry Ann Wolfe of Johnstown; two nieces: Debra Sadler and Lynn Zapotoczny, both of Altoona; two nephews: George Wolfe of Harrisburg and Thomas Wolfe of Johnstown; several other nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald T.; and a brother, James Allison. Ruby was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School. While living in Florida in the 1960s, she attended Daytona Beach Junior College. She and her late husband were residents of Massachusetts for 39 years and formerly had lived in Daytona Beach, Fla., and Johnson City, N.Y. Ruby retired as a senior clerk for Princess House in Dighton, Mass., with 20 years of service. She had been a member of the Holly Hill Police Department while living in Florida and had worked for Sylvania in Pennsylvania. During WWII, she had worked on parachutes at the Juniata Silk Mill in Altoona. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, the Rev. Chuck Monts officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
