Adam C. "Carl" Conrad, Sr., 63, of Juniata, died Monday, at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, following an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Francis M. and Grace V. (Imler) Conrad. He was twice married, first to Wanda McCarron, then on November 29, 1986, in Altoona to Faye L. (James) Imler. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Adam C. Conrad, Jr., of Duncansville, Matthew Conrad of Altoona, one stepson, Donald Imler of Altoona, 7 grandchildren, Danielle, Jordan, Dylan, Rachel, Nathaniel, Nikali and Sara, 2 step grandchildren, Nikkole, Brandon, one sister, Lois Rhodes Anderson of Altoona and one brother, Kenneth Conrad of Hollidaysburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Ethan and a brother, Francis. Carl retired as a forklift operator at U. S. Foods. He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War having been stationed in Germany. He enjoyed hunting, working on cars and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, with Rev. Walter Smith, officiating.
