Earl G. "Pete" Blontz, 69, of Altoona, died Sunday at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Russell and Freida (Eisel) Blontz. He married Colleen "Connie" Raugh on October 3, 1965 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata. Surviving are his wife, one son, Bradley G. Blontz and wife Joanne of Hollidaysburg, two granddaughters, Madeline and Emma, twin sisters, Norma Walters and husband David of Cresaptown, MD, Joanne Patterson and husband Sherwood of Altoona, one brother Calvin R. Blontz of Altoona and numerous nieces and nephews. Pete retired in 2002 as a foreman for the Altoona City Authority where he worked for more than 37 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata. His hobbies included computers and spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday, March 17, 2010, and from 9am -9:30am Thursday at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral mass will be held at 10am Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata with Rev. Monsignor Robert C. Mazur, officiating. Committal at Grandview Cemetery.
