Richard A. "Dick" Stacey, 60, of Altoona, died Sunday at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring. He was born in Ft. Worth, TX, son of William M. and Margaret (Shay) Stacey. He married V. Kay Feathers on July 17, 1971, in Claysburg, PA. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2007. Surviving are three children: Richard C. Stacey and his wife Christina of Altoona, April E. Sharer and husband Tony of Tyrone, and Dawn Reilly and husband John of Roaring Spring; six grandchildren: Amber, Haley, Taylor, Kylie, Keara, and Jacob; three siblings: Steve Stacey and his wife Mary Jo, Nancy Fornwalt and her husband Tom, and Edward D. "Danny" Melley, III, and his wife Cindy, all of Altoona; two sister in laws: Clydene Lingenfelter and her husband Jeff of East Freedom, and Cathy Sell and her husband Kent of King; several nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Rosco. Dick retired as a milkman from Gallikers Dairy after many years of service. He was a 1967 graduate of Altoona High School, and went on to serve in the U. S. Navy during Viet Nam, being stationed aboard the USS Oriskany CVA-34, as a member of the flight deck crew. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, coaching, and especially spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 18, with Rev. Charles Breisacher, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Child Life Department at Geisinger Medical Center, 100 N. Academy Drive, Danville, PA 17822.
