Steven M. Park

Steven M. "Pops" Park, 59, of Altoona, died Saturday at the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Altoona, a son of the Sara Geanne (Brickely) Park and the late Norman G. Park. He married Sandra M. Charles on April 3, 1987, in Altoona. Surviving are his wife Sandra Charles Park of 23years, six children, Jeremy J. Park and family, Joshua J. Park, Jake C. Park and family, Tera A. Charles and family, Paul C. Charles and family, Joseph M. Charles, Sr. and family, 16 grandchildren whom he loved spending time with including a very special granddaughter, Sharee Williams, whom he raised in the home. He is also survived by his mother Sara Geanne Park, his mother in law, Theresa A. Pelligrino, one brother, William N. Park and wife Kay, one sister in law, Nina Ramsey and husband Eric, one brother in law George Ritchey and wife Debbie, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School and was a Vietnam Navy Veteran serving from 1970 - 1974. He worked for more than 27 years as a welder at F. L. Smithe Company. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
