Judith L Geist

Judith L. Geist, 69, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and F. Marie(Bennett) Shingle. She married Milton B. "Dutch" Geist July 27, 1957 in Winchester, VA. She is survived by her husband Dutch; three children: a daughter Lee Ann Geist of Altoona, two sons: Richard Geist of Altoona and James Geist of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren: Dalena Spickler and Devin Gerber, both of Altoona, and one sister Sharon Nead. She was preceded by an infant brother Billy. Judith retired as a bus driver from the Altoona School District in June, 2002, after 17 years of service. She was a graduate of Altoona High School. Judith was a coach for the Junior Bowling Program at P.V.R.C. and also volunteered for the American Cancer Society, as well as the Altoona Curve Baseball Team, which she was a huge fan of. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM, Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM, with Pastor Robert Rupp, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
