Gladys C. (McDemitt) Garman, 92, of Green Avenue Towers, formerly of Juniata, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Wolfe) McDermitt. She married Robert H. Garman in 1939. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1976. She is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Garman of Juniata, grandchildren Patrick (Sally), Bryon (Annette), all of Altoona, Michael (Linda), Timothy (Tammy), John (Karen), all of Ohio, Mark (Barbara) of Tennessee, Barbara Stolz in Florida and Cindy Odell (Mike) of Duncansville, along with all of their families which totals 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert A. and Danny F. Gladys was a member of the former Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Juniata. She was retired from Sylvania Electronics. Gladys will always be remembered for her many acts of love, kindness and helping others, as well as the many lives she touched. A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Peggy Bonsell, officiating. Interment at Antis Cemetery. Family and friends will be received in the banquet room of the Juniata VFW, 2nd St. and 16th Ave. following the services.
