Paul R. Riley, 69, Altoona, died Sunday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of Sylvester and Margaret (Colyer) Riley. He married Gloria (Salyards) Bourne Riley on June 3, 2003, in Hollidaysburg. Surviving are his wife; three children: Brenda Whitfield, Sheri Gray and husband, Chip, and Brian and wife, Lorrie, all of Altoona; three stepchildren: Jeff, Amy and Joey Bourne; nine grandchildren: Kayla Whitfield-Bradley, Emma Whitfield, Melony, Cody, Kurtis and Collin Gray and Courtney, Devin and McKayla Riley; two stepgrandchildren: Cody and Cory Bourne; a brother, Russell; a sister, Lola Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie; a daughter, Melanie; and six siblings. Paul retired from F.L. Smithe Machine Co. Inc. after 35 years of service in its maintenance department. He loved his dogs, and he enjoyed Saturday morning outings with his friends, Stan, Bill and John, building models and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Fields of Harvest Fellowship, 3620 Fifth Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Pastor Hud Crossman officiating.
