Harold A Leighty

Harold A. "Sonny" Leighty, 62, Altoona, died early Monday morning at Altoona Hospital. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Virginia (Isenberg) Leighty. He married Joanne L. Baker on August 22, 1998, in Woodstock, Virginia. Surviving are his wife Joanne; one brother John of San Anselmo, CA, two sisters: Sandy Tezak of Harrisburg and Betty Jane McCaa of Williamsburg, PA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Harold retired from the Ebensburg Center as a Residential Service Aide in 2009. He was a graduate of Altoona High School. He was in the U.S. Army serving in Viet Nam, and was a member of the Riggles Gap Sportsman Association. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, chess, and sports-especially football. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery.
