Bruce Oeffinger

C. Bruce Oeffinger, 90, of Altoona, died Thursday morning at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Frank and Grace (Miller) Oeffinger. He married L. Jane (Putman) Oeffinger on May 5, 1946. She died December 5, 1967. Surviving are four children: Thomas R. of Reading, Cheryl K. Adkinson of West Chester, David B. of Baltimore and John J. of Altoona and four grandchildren, Brian E. of Philadelphia, Elizabeth J. of Enid Oklahoma, Krista Hilfiger of Mansfield Pa and Matthew Neeper of Altoona. He retired in 1981 as gang foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He graduated from Altoona High School and Altoona School of Commerce. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from February 3, 1941 to January 1, 1946 and was a member of the VFW. His hobbies included fishing and small game hunting. Friends will be received from 10am until 12pm Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., (www.maukandyates.com) where funeral services will begin at 12pm with Rev. Keith Schmuck, officiating. Interment at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
