James C Allen

James C. Allen, 72, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Friday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born in Middlesburg, Pa., son of the late Carland and Ruth (Bartlett) Allen. He married Phyllis Harris on July 4, 1959. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis, of Altoona; a daughter, Sharon Hunter and husband, Wayne, of Bellwood; a son, Timothy Allen of Bellwood; three grandchildren: Tyler, Conner and Seth Hunter. He currently attended Grace Bible Church. He served as senior pastor in various churches over his 50 years of ministry. He graduated from Blossburg Joint High School. He touched many hearts and lives over the years in his various ministries. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. He enjoyed restoring antique automobiles, gardening, music and spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Grace Bible Church, Pastors Myron Weiand and Daren Ritchey officiating.
