Schultz, John M. "Jack" August 21, 1924-----October 5, 2010 John M. Schultz, 86, Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at the home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Helen (Bonner) Schultz. Surviving are his daughter Mary Ann Daniels ,of Duncansville, a granddaughter Nicole D. Sproul and husband Craig of Duncansville, numerous great grandchildren, two brothers: Richard Schultz of New Jersey and William Schultz of Juniata; one sister Gertrude Nycum of Juniata. He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory M. Schultz, two brothers Robert and Giles Schultz; and two sisters, Helen Marie Waite and Harriet Schultz. Jack retired from Conrail, and had previously worked at Penn Central and the PRR. He was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School. He had attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata. He served in the U.S. Army, graduating from OCS and attaining the rank of Captain during WW 2 and Korea, being awarded a Purple Heart; and later served in the National Guard. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed golf. Funeral arrangements were carried out according Jack's wishes. Memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame University.
