Irene B Pease

Irene B Pease, 91, of Altoona, died early Wednesday morning. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ira and Laura (Gates) Alloway. She married Paul F. Pease in March of 1944 in Biloxi, MS. He preceded her in death in September, 1969. Irene is survived by three children: Pastor Paul Pease and his wife Judy of Altoona, David Pease of Newry, and Robert Pease of South Shore, KY; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons Raymond Pease in 1974, Thomas Pease in 1979, her grandson Paul Nathan Pease in 1991, and her sister Anna Mae. Irene had worked for numerous companies, including Boyer Candy, the Hoffman Dairy, Gables, the Pennsylvania Railroad, and Holiday Inn at BWI Airport. She was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School. She enjoyed knitting and being a homemaker. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Arch Springs Cemetery in Sinking Valley. Arrangements by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
