Marjorie E. "Marj" (Glenn) Weidley, 90, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Altoona, died Saturday at the home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Carl E. and Mae (Clark) Glenn. She married John E. Weidley Jr. on May 3, 1942, in Crafton. They were married by the Rev. John C. Hare. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Darice Rutter and husband, John, of Altoona; a son, John "Jack" Weidley III of Lakemont; three grandchildren: Justin Beegle, Wendy Sprankle and husband, Troy, and John Rutter Jr. and wife, Tina; two step-grandchildren: John R. Weidley and wife, Ellen, and Michelle Wysocki; six great-grandchildren: Jessica Sprankle, Kearsten Sprankle, Allison Sprankle, Ricky Davis, Zachary Rutter and Savannah Rutter; three step-great-grandchildren: Rachael Weidley, Johnny Weidley and Kiran Wysocki; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Glenn of Ohio; and a sister, Phyllis Masterson of Middletown. She was a graduate of Altoona High School. She was employed as a clerk at Gable's Department Store for 25 years. Mrs. Weidley was a member of Eastern Star Delphi Chapter. She enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband and spending time at their cottage in Sinking Valley and Cliffside Acres, Everett, and especially spending time with with her grandkids. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home Nursing Agency-Hospice Unit.
