Florence A. "Flo" Lane, 93, Altoona, died Friday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ernest John and Ruth G. (Edwards) Hall. She married Kenneth Franklin Lane on Dec. 24, 1936, in Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Juniata. He died Dec. 19, 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Joyce A. Gordon of Altoona; a son, Kenneth J. Lane and wife, Lois, of Painted Post, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother. Mrs. Lane was a 1935 graduate of Altoona High School. She had previously operated Lane's Confectionery for 12 years. She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, where she was active in her Sunday school class, Women's Society and Esther Circle. She was also a member and past queen of Daughters of the Nile, member and past officer of Ladies Oriental Shrine, member of Jordon White Shrine, Jobal Court, Auxiliary of Juniata Civic Association, Calico Quilters of Blair County, Altoona Hospital Auxiliary and member and trustee of Story League. Flo enjoyed quilting. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., where a funeral service will be held at noon. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
