Ronald L Boore Sr

Ronald L. Boore, Sr., 70 of Altoona, died Thursday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Andrew S. and Helen P. (Snavely) Boore. Surviving are his children: SherrI Wise and her husband William of Montgomery, PA, Ronald L Boore, Jr., and his wife Janet of Montgomery, PA, and Brian Boore and his wife Dawn of Muncy, PA; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ronald retired from Stroehmann Bakeries Inc., as a mechanic after 23 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for both Blair Senior Services and delivered Meals on Wheels, both of which he very much enjoyed. He also enjoyed baseball, being one of the founders of the Eldorado Little League. Camping and spending time with his family and friends was a love of his, as was his dog nooks. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday, January 17, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 18, at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Coles, officiating. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Central PA Humane Society.
