Betty I Ickes

Betty I. Ickes, 84, Altoona, died Sunday at home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Florence (Hollen) Stoy. She married the late Fred M. Ickes. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lafferty of Altoona; 15 grandchildren; and four siblings: John Stoy of Bellwood, Anna Halerz and Helen Esposti, both of Altoona, and Lois McCory in Delaware. She was preceded in death by four children: Kathy A. Malady, John M., Donald J. and Joseph P.; two brothers; and a sister. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, followed by a funeral service at noon.
