Betty J Dorrell

Betty J. (Fry) Dorrell, 56, Altoona, died Friday, March 11, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her children and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James R. and Phyllis M. Fry. Surviving are her four children: daughter Erin Wentz, daughter Brianne Weymer and her husband Edwin Jr., a son Jason Wentz, and a daughter Jennifer West, as well as six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant brother Stephen Fry. Betty was a 1973 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She previously worked as a CNA privately and for Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries. Betty enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where services will be held at 8 PM. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
