Gerald A. Imler, 79, of Altoona, died Saturday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of Glen C. and Iva B. (Fletcher) Imler. He married the former June Mearkle on Sept. 26, 1993, in Altoona at Grace United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; three daughters: Cathy (Mike) Glashauser, Connie (Pat) Counsman and LeeAnn (Bill) Lightner; a stepdaughter, Debbie (Tim) Hatch; a step-son, Scott (Nancy) Mearkle; a grandson, Michael Glashauser; a sister, Betty Conrad; stepgrandchildren; and step great-grandchildren. Mr. Imler was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church, where he was active in choir. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army. Gerald enjoyed fishing and bowling. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood United Methodist Church by Rev. Joe Fleck. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park.
