Donald R. Brady, Jr.

Donald R. Brady Jr., 70, Altoona, died Sunday night at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Donald R. Sr. and Arletta (Tippett) Brady. Surviving are numerous cousins as well as many friends. Donald was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Army. In September 2010, he retired as plumbing inspector for the City of Altoona after 16 years of service, and he previously had owned his own plumbing business in Maryland as a master plumber. He was a member of the Blair County Antique Auto Club and a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society. Donald enjoyed antique cars and boating, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially around the holidays. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com), where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Nursing Agency Hospice.
