Linette Marie Beck

Linette Marie Beck, 55, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, April 29, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in November 7, 1955, Altoona, daughter of John Anslinger and Shirley (Pincin) Plummer. She married James E. Beck June 30, 1973, in Hollidaysburg. Surviving are her husband Jim, one daughter Kristine Gibson and her husband Joshua of Hollidaysburg, two grandsons Caleb and Elijah Gibson of Hollidaysburg; her mother Shirley Plummer of Newry; three sisters: Linda Azzarello and her husband Roger of Martinsburg, Sharon Morris and her husband Dr. Robert A. of Hollidaysburg, and Jacquelyn Myers and her husband Richard of Sharpsburg, MD; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Linette was an Altoona High School graduate, class of 1973 and Altoona High School Lionette. She was a Penn State Master Gardner, accomplished Watercolor Artist, Stephens Minister through the First United Methodist Church Hollidaysburg, and Altoona Hospital ministerial volunteer. She loved spending time at her art studio in Potter Creek Bedford County, teaching, painting, and enjoyed long walks with her golden retriever Beau. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, May 2, 2011, and from 10-11 am Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the church, with Rev. Dennis Derr, officiating. Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. Arrangements by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
