Diane M Winters

June 5, 1952 — May 14, 2011

Diane Marie (Laughlin) Winters, 58, Altoona, lost her long battle with cancer Saturday while at home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Glenn F. and Ruth T. (Trindle) Laughlin. Surviving are her husband of 25 years, Michael K. Winters; a son, Trevor of Altoona; two stepsons: Eric M. and wife, Courtney, and Sean M., both of Altoona; and two brothers: Scott Laughlin of Altoona and Greg Laughlin and wife, Betty, of Homestead, Fla. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn C. Laughlin. Diane was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. She worked at Blue Stone Builders early on and continued working various other jobs. Among them were several bartending jobs, which she enjoyed enormously as she loved being around people. She also worked at Subway briefly and then at Port Sky Cafe, Penn State Altoona. Diane's greatest love was her family, and she was a devoted wife and mother. She loved camping and fishing. She had countless friends as she was a loving, caring and beautiful person around whom you always wanted to be. She always had the time to talk to you about any troubles you might have and help you in any way she could. Diane just loved people, and you couldn't help but love her. God is going to be so proud to have her in his house, just as we were, and where we will all meet again someday. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com), followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
