George E Smith

George E. Smith, 89, Altoona, died Wednesday. He was born in Altoona, son of Anthony J. and Katherine E. Smith. He married the late Winifred G. Lang. Surviving are two grandsons; a daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Smith; and five sisters: Bernice Yohn, Thelma Yohn, Evelyn Rilley, Shirley Thompson and Ruth Gensamer. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert G. Sr.; and two sisters: Irene Rahm and Rose Cline. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. At the request of the deceased, there will be no formal services. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata
