Doreen Mae Eshelman, 80, Altoona, died early Wednesday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born in Duncansville, daughter of Irvin and Jeanette (Gearhart) McGinnis. She first married Pastor Glenn McCaulley on Aug. 4, 1949, and he passed away Dec. 14, 1969. She then married Charles W. Eshelman on Aug. 29, 1975. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Glenna Schlegel and husband, John, of Reading; two sons: Roy McCaulley and wife, Amy, and Dale McCaulley and wife, Donna, all in Illinois; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving relative of her generation. Doreen was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. She was employed as a clerk at the Altoona Area School District Tax Office. She attended First Church of the Brethren and was active in supporting various missionaries. Doreen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her husband and loved the Lord. As her legacy, she leaves all three children active in full-time ministry. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com), followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
