Janet M. Hagerty, 76, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Oliver Neff and Margarette (Beeler) Nicodemus. She married Chester A. Hagerty in Winchester, Va., and he died in 1981. Surviving are a daughter, LuAnn Gillespie and husband, Donald E. Jr., of Hollidaysburg, with whom she resided; a son, Chet A. and wife, Carol, of Martinsburg; three grandchildren: Donald Gillespie, Laura E. Ellis and Zeth A. Hagerty; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Nicodemus. Janet was a homemaker. She attended Faith Assembly of God in Roaring Spring. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, her camper on Lake Raystown and eating at The Dream. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at Blair Memorial Park Chapel by Pastor John Collins, followed by interment.
