****NOTE**** All services for Bill will be held at Jaggard First United Methodist Church---all of the viewing times on Friday, as well as the funeral service itself on Saturday will be held at the church. William Clayton "Bill" Elders, 64, Altoona, died Wednesday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph W. and Blanche (Johnson) Elders. He was twice married, first to Nancy Folk, then to Denise Stoehr on June 30, 2002, in Altoona, both of whom survive him.Also surviving are two children: Christopher William and wife, Michele, and Brandy Price and husband, Thomas, all of Altoona; a stepson, Branden Adams and wife, Dionne, of Altoona; six grandchildren: Christopher M. Elders, Harley and Sadie Price and Brayden, Branson and Brionna Adams; a brother, Robert and wife, Cyndi, in California; an aunt, Phyllis Sprow of Allentown; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a close friend, Arlan Kauffman.Bill was a graduate of Altoona High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a drill sergeant stationed at Fort Knox, Ky., and served the city of Altoona as a firefighter for over 33 years. He was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church and also belonged to the Bavarian Aid Society, International Association of Fire Fighters, Pennsylvania Trappers' Association and Blair County Game, Fish and Forestry Association Inc.Bill was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman and fly tier. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a good husband, father and grandfather and a "good guy."Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jaggard First United Methodist Church and from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday, July 30, 2011, also at the church, the Rev. Brent Salsgiver officiating. All of the viewing services and the funeral services on both Friday and Saturday will be held at the church. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miracle League of Blair County.
