Rodger F. Frank Sr., 82, Altoona, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Carl and Agnes (Hoyer) Frank. He married Janet Sanker on April 30, 1955, in Altoona. Surviving are his wife; four children: Rodger Jr. (Claire) of Bellefonte, Eric (Becky) of Jacksonville, Fla., Beth A. Cromer (Brad) of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Ellen M. Reeseman of Altoona; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Austin (Tina) of Altoona. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Rodger was a graduate of Altoona High School. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. He was employed as an electrical supervisor with Blair Electric Service Co. for 25 years, then with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 5. Rodger was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and also belonged to the Juniata VFW and Heidelberg Country Club. He was a member of the Cathedral Choir for many years. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com), where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday by Monsignor Michael E. Servinsky. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.
