DORIS A. WRIGHT August 10, 1929 September 29, 2011 Doris A. Wright, 82, of Altoona, died Thursday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital campus as the result of a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late J. Edward and Thelma M. (Waite) Rhule. She married Donald F. Wright in May 1948 in Altoona. He died May 1, 2009. Mrs. Wright is survived by a daughter, Linda A. Caldwell, wife of Paul, of Duncansville; a granddaughter, Audra Harding, wife of Tim, of Altoona; three grandsons, Eric Caldwell, of Altoona, Brett Caldwell, of Loretto, and Adam Caldwell, of Altoona; a great-grandson, Matthew Brantner, of Tucson, AZ; three great-granddaughters, Vickey Caldwell, Kaitlyn Brantner, and Breyonia Dixon-Harding, all of Altoona; and two brothers, David Rhule and Thomas Rhule, both of Altoona. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Rhule. Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and had attended Altoona High School. She was a member of the Mercy Hospital Socialites and had volunteered at Mercy Hospital. She had been briefly employed at Safety-Bak. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and two dogs, Thunder and Sig, as well as doing crossword puzzles, playing on the computer, and sitting on her front porch talking to the neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, where a Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Jon Neely officiating. Entombment will be at Blair Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Wright's honor to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society would be appreciated.
