Clyde L. Brown, 81, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 30, 2011, at the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born on December 30, 1929, in Altoona, son of the late Roy and Minne (Edgar) Brown. He married Donna Hostler on December 24, 1949 at Juniata United Brethren Church. Surviving are five children: Barry Brown and his wife Connie of Altoona, Clyde Brown and his wife Claudia of Indiana, PA, Dale Brown and his wife Karen of Altoona, Curtis Brown of Altoona, and Jennifer Cagle and her husband Erik of Altoona; 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grand child, and one sister, Dona Dunmire. He was preceded in death by 10 of his siblings. Clyde retired as a foreman from Bomont Mills in 1995 after 50 years of service. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He attended Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, archery, and especially spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 9-11 AM Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 11 Am, with Rev. Ronald R. Anderson, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Missions Fund.
