Catherine E Shew

Catherine E. Shew, 97, The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, died Sunday at the home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of William B. and Bertha Ritchey. She married the late John William Shew. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Lou McNeel and husband, William Ronald, of Mechanicsburg; and grandchildren. Catherine was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was a caring mother and grandmother. Friends will be received from 3 until the 4 p.m. funeral service today, Nov. 22, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata (www.maukandyates.com). Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave., P.O. Box 352, Altoona, PA 16603.
