Patricia A Wisland

Patricia A. Wisland June 30, 1964 -- December 19, 2011 Patricia A. Wisland, 47, of Greenwood, died Monday afternoon. She was born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Emmert D. McGarry, who preceded her in death, and Barbara A. (O'Donald) Hoover. She married Andrew Wisland. She is survived by two children, Renee Wisland and Anthony Wisland, her mother, Barbara Hoover and husband, Ron, one sister, Kathleen Ziegler and husband Scott and family, two step sisters, Amy Dubois and family, Andra Cannon and family, one step brother, Frank Hoover and family. She graduated from Bowie High School in Maryland and had worked various jobs in the Washington D. C. area before moving to Altoona. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Pre-Law from Mt. Aloysius College and had most recently worked in the Parole and Probation Office of Blair County. Patricia enjoyed helping people in need by collecting food and clothing to distribute to them, but her real joy came in spending time with her children. She had attended the Greenwood United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 10am until 12noon, Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., (www.maukandyates.com). A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Evelyn Madison, officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greenwood United Methodist Church "Prayer Garden".
