Violet J. Dickinson, 84, of Valley View Home, formerly of Juniata Gap, died early Wednesday morning at the home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Velva W. Snyder. She married Samuel H. Dickinson June 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1960. Surviving is a son Richard A. Dickinson of Altoona; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and daughter in law Kay Anderson. She retired as a saleswoman from J.C.Penny's, formerly Gables, in May of 1988, after 20 years of service. She was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church, where she served in the Women's Missionary Society. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, having made countless gifts for her grandchildren. She will be remembered as one who was always willing to help people.
