Charles C. "Chuck or Connie" Steinbeiser, 67, of Juniata died Saturday morning at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Mildred J. (Shope) Steinbeiser. Surviving are five daughters: Sonja Steel (Patrick), Robin Perini, Christine B. Binduga (Bryan), Tracey Harding (Michael) and Kristy Steinbeiser, all of Altoona; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Johnson (Carey) of Altoona; and a brother, Rodney Steinbeiser (Dorothy) of Hilton Head, S.C.; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Aunt Virginia Shope and Uncle Howard Shope. Chuck retired as a foreman for Marcon Industries, State College, after many years of service. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, "Buddy," who was his best friend for 14 years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc. (www.maukandyates.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
