Russell L Blontz

Russell L. Blontz, III, 50, of Wilkinsburg, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord Saturday January 7, 2012, in Wilkinsburg. He was born in Altoona, a son of Russell L. Blontz, Jr. and Darlene M Houck. Surviving are his mother, Darlene M. Smeak and step father Roger Smeak of Altoona, one sister Beth Amy Blontz, of Port St. Lucie, FL, 2 step brothers, James Martinez and Gary Martinez, both of Somerset, 3 step sisters, Veronica Smeak and Heidi Leydig of Myersdale, Theresa Smeak of Boswell and three special aunts, Norma Walters(Dave), Joan Patterson(Woody) and Connie Blontz. He was preceded in death by his father in 2004. He had many friends and was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He was a graduate of Altoona High School and received his Associates degree from Penn State University. Russell worked as a manager for the Family Dollar Stores in the Pittsburgh area. He loved cooking, gardening and taking care of his beautiful house plants. Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.(www.maukandyates.com) A memorial service will be held at 1pm Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. George Sanders, officiating. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery
