Robert A. Weston, 86, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Avalon Road, Juniata Gap, died Thursday evening at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Harold J. and Mary E. (Heberling) Weston. He married Betty J. Steel on February 3, 1950, in Altoona. Surviving are his wife, four children, Barry W. Weston(Darlene), Bonnie L. Dawson, James R. Weston(Diane), John H. Weston(Pauline), all of Altoona, six grandchildren, Brad Weston, Natalie Perate, Bellemi Dawson, Hunter Dawson, Johnna Weston and Jenna Weston and one great granddaughter, Julia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary E. Chulyak and two brothers, Harold and Jack. He was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1943. Following high school he joined the United States Army where he attained the rank of SGT and was awarded two bronze stars while participating in campaigns in Central Europe and Rhineland. Bob was a member of Mardorf United Methodist Church. He was self-employed in the floor covering business for many years. He was a member of the Juniata Gap Volunteer Fire Company for many years and the Logan Country Club. Friends will be received from 2-4pm Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held at 4pm with Rev. Edward J. Preston, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mardorf United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
