Larry L. Miller, 71, Altoona, died Monday at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, son of the late Harry L. and Rosetta (Whipking) Miller. Surviving are six children: Sherry L. Allison (Michael) of Altoona, David L. Miller (Ann Marie) Sinking Valley, Deborah A. Ciampoli (Paul, II) of Altoona, Darryl P. (Janice) of Valdosta, GA, Kevin A. (Rebecca) of Altoona, Karri L. Friedenberger (Kirk) of Chicago; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his former wife Jeani Miller and their friend Tim Furry; two brothers: Daniel L. Miller (Gladys) of Altoona, David E. Miller of Bellwood, and a brother in law William A. Berardi of Bellwood. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Hayden M. Charles, and a sister Maryann Berardi, and a sister in law Clara Miller. Larry retired from the Altoona Hospital in 1996 as a plumber. He was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1958. He was a member of Riggles Gap Sportsmans club, Ducks Unlimited, and the Ruffed Grouse Society, and was a former member of AFSCME. He was an avid hunter fisherman, enjoyed NASCAR as well as local stock car racing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, January 19, 2012, and from 10-11 AM Friday, January 20, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM, with Rev. Charles Baughman, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Nursing Agency, Hospice Unit.
