Ryan James Johnson, 26, Altoona, died suddenly Tuesday at Altoona Regional Health System Trauma Center of a ruptured aortic aneurysm. He was born in Altoona, son of Carl A. Jr. and Vicki L. (Shock) Johnson. Surviving are his parents of Altoona; two brothers: Carl A. and Erik S., both of Altoona; his grandmothers: Janet Johnson and Betty Shock; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Carl A. Johnson Sr. and James F. Shock Sr. Ryan was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed as a mason with various contractors and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports, having played basketball and football for school teams, and he was an avid fan of Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. He loved dogs and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Father Terrence T. Smith, T.O.R., as celebrant.
