Charles James Muro

July 16, 1924-----February 29, 2012 Charles J. Muro, 87, Altoona, died early Wednesday morning at Valley View Home. He was born in Huntingdon, PA, son of the late Antonio and Maria (Lemmo) Muro. He married Ada Mae Burd on September 4, 1955. Surviving are his wife; a son Gary and a step daughter Bonnine Edwards Walker, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a nephew Anthony Muro. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank in 1998. Charles was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School. He served as an infantry sergeant in Europe during WW II. He then went to work for the railroad and retired from Conrail in 1983 after over 30 years of service. Charles was a life member of the D.A.V., and the Juniata VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A private service will be held for the family. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
